Nutcracker

 

When I was a little girl, all I wanted to be was a ballerina. I would twirl around and get up on my tippy-toes and jump. I remember the very first time my mom took me to the Nutcracker ballet. I nearly died of euphoria! Seeing all those beautiful costumes accompanied with the lovely music.

        I told anyone who asked that I was a ballerina and one day I was going to be the Ballet West Star of the Nutcracker. That year for Christmas my mom bought me a necklace, much like the one pictured. I loved it so much I felt special just wearing it. As though wearing that simple little pendant would truly make me the ballerina I thought I was! You've seen it. Every little girl aspires to be a ballerina, they balance on their toes and spin in circles until they fall over!
